This was an idea from Glenda Bailey in the latest Sew Somerset. Check out her lovely blog!
I loved her fabric cards and thought I would give them a try.
This one is various scraps, some felted wool, lace, stamps dipped in encaustic wax, papers and stamp (hey Donna, do you recognize that one from my box of goodies!), transferred photo of a door from a trip to Quebec, and old clothes. I left the heart open like a pocket so I could write a note on fabric, roll it up, and place it in the heart.

Oh Katie .. I love this! I have been wanting to try some post cards, so you have inspired me. I think leaving the heart open is very clever. Have fun. xxDonna
Beautiful work, the open heart is very symbolic and useful! Hugs, Valerie

A greeting

Just came over from "stitchin' fingers" and am enjoying your interesting blog by the AC (it's over 100 F. today in Tunisia)--I like the dolls and scrapbook and book pages, and your textile work/play generally. I'm slowly easing into the journal idea so it's fun to see others' ideas, especially incorporating fabric and embellishments.
best, nadia
Happy stitching! fun to see. loved the postcards you swap with your mom.
