Quilting and the Calm

I feel like shouting from the rooftops "I'm back"! The quilting and sewing inspiration has returned. I cleared off the work table. Aside from a sketchbook and watercolors, I turned my focus back to my small quilts...and FINISHING the 5 tops I have looking at me every day. This week I pulled out the next pattern for the Jo Morton small quilt club, and the stack of Civil War reproduction fabrics, and got down to sewing those scant quarter inch seams! I liked this pattern so much, and it was realatively quick, so I made two even.

Now, maybe, just maybe, I can have them all quilted and bound by the September meeting!

Oh Katie. There is NOTHING like a home made quilt! They just evoke so much love. They are all beautiful .. the colours, the patterns, your love woven into all the piecing and the stiches. Thanks for showing us .. they always touch my heart. Take care. Talk to you soon. xxDonna

Wow Katie,

Your choice of materials and fabrics are so YOU. Funky patterns and colors full of personality, all of which work so well together. Years from now, experts will scrutinize quilts the way they do antiquities, and there will be satisfied grins all around whenever the appraisers are heard to say, "Yes, it's a 'Katie' all right."

Let me know if you put any up for sale, okay?

I'm a new follower, so I didn't realize you were away. Glad to see you making small quilts, my favorites! I too have a stash of Civil War fabrics, left over from a fully-intended Dear Jane that became a wall-hanging instead. LOL!
