At last, the quilt is complete

My Mom and I have been working on this quilt for my brother and his wife for nearly a year. We each did 22 squares, all different fabrics and blocks. We also wanted to try out the long arm machines and do all the quilting ourselves. Some of those loopty loops have run a muck, but it all worked out in the end. And thankfully, Mom is a pro at binding, so I let her take on that big job!
We gave it to them this weekend for an early holiday get together and they loved it. Now I just need to get back to work on mine.

Wow, Katie, I'm so impressed with your quilt! I love going to quilt shows, makes me want to get my half finished one out to finish!

I'm enjoying catching up on your creative adventures while grinding through another sleepless night with a sick baby. In moments like this I need to be reminded that someone out there is doing something because the want to and because they must. If I were in school I would say that I didn't have room for any electives this semester. Thanks for the perspective Katie!

Quilt looks great! Such fun to celebrate before all the craziness starts... helps focus your attention on those you love instead of the 'day'. Hugs.
