Exploring silk cocoons

I ordered some silk cocoons at Mud Hollow on Etsy recently. I had some different ideas for ways to work with them. One of those ideas was to make a tiny book.  It is coming along....I did some embroidery around the edge and added some pages.
The book reads "We all contain beautiful and delicate art."

I had to take a break from working with such a small thing. I will post the finished book soon though.

Very beautiful, Katie. And so different. Sure to catch the imagination of other artists. You need one giant size magnifying glass! xxDonna

PERFECT teeny tiny book - and the quote is so sweet and so appropriate.

Great idea, Katie.

the cocoons are cool. I've got to figure out a way to incorporate them in my stuff. But not a tiny book -- too tiny for my fat hands!

I was waiting to see this post, can't believe what you've done here. I also like to work on small things, but don't know if I'd be good with these. They look so fragile! Your little book idea is very touching. :)
